About The DiverCity Group ©
The DiverCity Group is the organization that created Unity in DiverCity. Unity in DiverCity is the enterprise; The DiverCity Group is the group of people carrying this enterprise forward. The DiverCity Group is a small, non-profit community group that merges previous diversity-related work in Muncie with “grass roots” community action to promote unity in diversity through dialogue and ethnic, racial, and cultural experiences. It is a diverse, resourceful, hard-working group of people from all across Muncie. The DiverCity Group began as a Study Circle on Race. Though not religious in nature, this Study Circle was held at and hosted by Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Muncie and sponsored by Christian Ministries of Delaware County, and Unity in DiverCity was announced to the community in a citywide meeting hosted by Muncie's Unitarian Universalist Church. Meetings of The DiverCity Group continue to be held monthly at Gethsemane Church, on McGalliard Road near Wheeling Avenue.
